Service Enhancements: Major Makeover for WISE / Auction Creator

We've drastically overhauled our WISE / Auction Creator program. Previously, the program was limited to creating a CSV (comma-separated values) file that was imported into eBay's Turbo Lister. The new version, now known as simply Auction Creator, is able to list items directly to eBay.

The program has a number of unique or improved features:

• Image and Auction Load Time Optimization
  Most digital cameras take large pictures that result in very large file sizes. This means that when potential bidders view your auctions, they must wait a long time before they are able to view all of your photos. Most bidders do not tolerate long loading auctions, and close the auction rather than wait for it to load. To improve auction load times, this feature of Auction Creator automatically resizes and shrinks your photos without impairing image quality, in most cases decreasing the file size by a factor of 10. Faster loading auctions generally result in a higher number of bidders.
  
  
• Automatic HTML Template Fill In
  The primary time-saving feature of Auction Creator frees you from having to worry about scrolling through line after line of HTML to edit the specific section of your auction template that you are currently working on. Even when using a WYSIWYG (what-you-see-is-what-you-get) editor, you still spend lots of time scrolling around. Our program eliminates this time, since you just need to fill out all item specific information in textboxes and then our program automatically plugs what you wrote into the appropriate spot in your template.
  
  
• Easier Template Creation
  The process for creating a template for use with our program is now MUCH easier and simpler to understand. The entire procedure takes just a few minutes, and we've updated our documentation to reflect the new method.
  
  
• Support for English-language International eBay sites (eBay UK and eBay Australia)
  Our listing tool now provides listing functionality for eBay UK and eBay Australia. This allows our customers to list to a wider variety of sites and expand their markets. If you list to these sites, you must be prepared to ship your item to those locations, and you should be aware of the listing differences among the many eBay international sites.

Selling Tip: Importance of Pictures

The right picture of an item can influence potential bidders tremendously. Bidders of very rare or unique items want some sort of way to verify that you do in fact own the item that you are selling. For most items on eBay, the condition of the item is very important as well. The picture helps the bidder establish the actual item condition, notwithstanding what you might have said in the item description. Often, even though a seller states that an item is of a particular quality, it is hard to verify that the seller is expert enough to make such judgements, and most buyers like to make these decisions for themselves. One or more clear, non-blurry pictures of the item you are selling helps them to appreciate the value of the item better.
